Boundary County Parks and Recreation is sponsoring many activities this Summer of 2014.
These include events for kids--basketball, fast pitch softball, track events, flag football, tennis, soccer,
volleyball and T-ball, and an adult tennis and softball league.  For more information, contact Boundary

September 5, Friday:  Mirror Lake Golf Course Two Person Scramble Golf Tournament. This special event
will benefit local Junior Golf and also improvements to the golf course. Sponsored by: Friends of Mirror Lake.

September 5, Friday:  First home football game of the season, BFHS vs Newport, at the BFHS Football Field,
7:00 p.m.

September 8, Monday:  Valley View Elementary "Back to School Night." September 8 from 5:30 p.m. until
6:30 p.m. at Valley View.

September 8, Monday:  The Boundary County Republican Central Committee will meet on Monday,
September 8, at 6 pm at Mugsy`s

September 9, Tuesday:  Kootenai Valley Resource Initiative
Forestry Sub-committee Meeting, September 9 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kootenai Tribal Office.

The KVRI Forestry Committee will meet to discuss the Deer Creek CFLR Project. This is an important
meeting… will be the final opportunity to help shape the project prior to the Forest Service Scoping process.
We really need to have your thoughts, so please take time to join us to help shape how community interests
can best be met while discussing development of this project.

September 9, Tueday:  BFHS Varsity Volleyball first home match of the season vs Northwest Christian,
6:00 p.m. at the BFHS gymnasium.

September 10, Wednesday:  Valley View Elementary School Parents Teachers Organization (PTO), First
meeting of the new school year, at Valley View, 4:15 p.m.  If you have students at Valley View, you're invited
to pitch in with us!

September 10, Wednesday:  Kootenai Valley Resource Initiative
Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Subcommittee Meeting, September 10 – Field Trip, meet at 8:30 a.m. –
Bonners Ferry Ranger District Office.

Hi everyone…… promised, here’s the scoop for our Blue Joe Creek Field Trip:

Please bring your own lunch and plenty of water to drink. We will leave the Forest Service Office at 8:30 a.m.
and return between 3:00 and 3:30 p.m.  It’s imperative that we travel together – no individual vehicles on this
trip. Please confirm your attendance by Monday, September 8, so we can arrange for vehicles as needed.

This will be a fun day…….hope you can join us.

September 13, Saturday:  The Class of 1964 has asked local historian, Howard Kent, to narrate a
history walk in downtown Bonners Ferry on Saturday, September 13th at 1:00. The public is welcome to
join the group.

September 16, Tuesday:  Bonners Ferry Community Blood Drive, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Mt. Springs
Church, 6789 Main Street. Schedule an appointment at or call 1-800-423-0151.

NOTE:  The Boundary County Board of Commissioners meets in regular session from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
each Monday and Tuesday, and, unless specifically authorized by Idaho Code, all meetings are open
to the public.  Every citizen of the county has the inherent right to meet with the Board of County
Commissioners, whether to express a concern or grievance or to make known your position on
matters of importance to you or to the community.
